Updated every week
Who's taking new clients right now?
Every week we read the websites of all 1054 places on our map. What they write about their waiting time or an intake stop, we put together for you. So you can see at a glance where you can go, in their own words.
See the waiting times- 99 places give a wait under 3 months
- 151 places give 3 months or more
- 125 places aren't taking anyone new
According to their own website, this week. Always ask.
Help near you
Mental health institutions, practices and walk-in places near you. Walk-in places often need no referral. Every address checked on their own website.
Open the mapThe contact kit
Contacting a practice is often the hardest step. With the contact kit you have a polite email and a call script ready in a few minutes, in English or Dutch.
Email
A polite email with your question, ready to go. You change what you like and copy it in one click.
Phone
A call script with the questions you can ask. Plus a voicemail text and tips if calling feels hard.
Finding help
From your first question to your first phone call.
While you wait
Something to fall back on, whenever you need it.
Good to know about the Dutch system
It starts with your GP
Psychological help covered by Dutch basic health insurance almost always starts with a GP (huisarts), who can refer you. Make sure you're registered with one.
There is a maximum waiting time
Under the Treeknorm, you should wait at most 4 weeks for an intake, and then at most 10 weeks for treatment.
Your insurer has to help
Waiting too long? Your health insurer can help you find a place sooner. This is called waiting-list mediation (wachtlijstbemiddeling), and it's free.
Your GP costs you nothing extra
Visits to your GP or their mental health nurse (POH-GGZ) don't count towards your deductible (eigen risico).
